ABOUT Thousand Island sauce RECIPE

A yummy dip.According to wikipedia- the dressing’s name comes from the Thousand island region, located along the upper St.Lawrence River between the United States and Canada. A fishing guide’s wife, Sophia LaLonde, made the condiment as part of her husband George’s shore dinner, hence the name.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1/2 cup eggless mayonisse
  2. 1 small onion very finely chopped
  3. 2 tsp vinegar
  4. 1 1/2 tbsp tomato ketchup
  5. 1 tsp salt
  6. 1 tsp tobasco sauce ( optional )
  7. 1 tbsp sweet pickle relish ( I have not added )

Instructions

  1. 1.In a bowl whisk together all ingredients gently.
  2. 2.Add seasonings to it and your thousand island sauce is ready.
  3. 3.Refrigerate it for a few hours for flavours to mingle.
  4. 4.Stays well for three to four days.
