ABOUT spicy chicken gravy RECIPE

This is our favourite chicken recipe at home and my kids and hubby can eat it everyday.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 9-10 chicken pieces, on bone
  2. 2 big onions
  3. 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  4. 2-3 green chillies
  5. 200 gm curd
  6. salt, as required
  7. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  8. 1 tsp coriander powder
  9. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  10. 2 tbsp oil
  11. 2 black cardamom
  12. 3-4 green cardamoms
  13. 3-4 cloves
  14. 1 inch cinnamon stick
  15. 1 bay leaf

Instructions

  1. In a bowl add curd, 1/2 tsp each of turmeric powder, coriander powder and red chilli powder, salt and 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste and mix well.
  2. Marinate the chicken pieces in curd mix and keep aside for an hour.
  3. In a pressure cooker heat oil and add all whole spices and add onions.
  4. Sauté till onions are brown, then add ginger garlic paste and sauté for a min.
  5. Add some water and then add salt and rest of the dry spices.
  6. Add the marinated chicken and sauté on medium flame.
  7. Sauté till the whole mix starts leaving oil and chicken is coated well in all the mixture.
  8. Add adequate water for gravy and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
  9. Cook on low flame till 10-12 mins till the chicken is done and then switch off the gas.
  10. Serve hot with your favourite rice or roti.
