Sandwich is prepared using chole masala and cheese. Leftover chole can also be used for making these sandwiches.
Blend green chilli, garlic cloves and ginger into coarse paste.
In a nonstick pan, heat oil. Add cumin seeds. Let it splutter.
Add finely chopped onion and salt. Cook till translucent. Add asafoetida. Stir it.
Add green paste. Cook till raw aroma goes away.
Add finely chopped tomato. Cook on low flame until they soften and become mushy.
Add garam masala, coriander powder, cumin powder, Red chilli powder. Cook for few seconds.
Add finely chopped coriander leaves, lemon juice. Mix it.
Add boiled chole. Mix well.
Mash using masher. Cook for few more seconds. Add 2-3 tbsp water if mixture is too dry. Let it cook for 1-2 minutes. cool it.
Spread some butter on brown bread slices evenly.
Spread mashed spicy chole mixture.
Top with some grated cheese. Cover the top with another buttered bread slice.
Grill them in Electric or any handheld sandwich maker.
Garnish with processed cheese. Cut and serve hot with tomato sauce, salad.
