Put rice in a heavy bottomed vessel. With half cup water and cook with covered lid till rice becomes soft. Stir constantly.
In another pan add milk and caradamom powder, almond powder, and saffron. Boil it on low flame and stir constantly to avoid burning.
Boil it till it reduces to 700 gm. Add this milk to boiled rice and stir constantly .add chopped nuts.
Cook 20 minutes on low flame and stir constantly. Add sugar and cook 5 mintues.
Your kheer is ready. Garnish with chopped nuts and fruits. You can serve it hot or chilled.
