ABOUT moong dal with tadka RECIPE

Simple moong dal with a twist of tasty tadka on top, served best with poori or roti.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1/2 cup washed split moong dal
  2. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  3. 1/4 tsp ginger
  4. salt, to taste
  5. water, as required
  6. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  7. 1/2 tsp dry mango powder or amchoor
  8. 1 tsp ghee
  9. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  10. 1 onion
  11. coriander, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Add dal, water,salt, turmeric powder and ginger in a pressure cooker.
  2. Cook for 1-2 whistles and then on low flame for 3-4 mins.
  3. Let the steam go off then open the cooker.
  4. Take out dal in a bowl, add chopped onion and coriander on top.
  5. Sprinkle red chilli powder and dry mango powder.
  6. Heat ghee in a tadka pan and add cumin seeds.
  7. Put this tadka on dal and serve hot.
