ABOUT Chickcheeza Bombs (Chicken & Cheese filled Appe) RECIPE

These delicious, soft goey and crispy Appe chickcheeza bombs will remind you of McDonald's pizza macpuff. Chicken mince with curry is mixed with Amul cheese cube and filled in center of Veggie Appe. Oozing gravy and warm cheese lifts the Appe and make them explode in your mouth. It's like MamaMiah!

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Fermented Rice idli batter or alternatively you can use raw Idli batter by mixing sour curd and Roasted rawa: 2 cups
  2. Diced Veggies like carrots, onions, capsicum, onion, tomatoes, green chilli and coriander: 2/3rd cup
  3. chicken chunks with any gravy or alternatively you can use Boiled chicken chunks and combine it with Chipotle or Mcburger sauce (readymade)
  4. Seasoning as per taste for idli batter: salt, red chilli powder and garam masala
  5. Cheese cubes: 3 any melting variety
  6. oil for greasing Poddu pan

Instructions

  1. Mix the veggies with fermented idli batter and seasoning together.
  2. Heat the Poddu pan. Brush it with few drops of oil in each pot.
  3. Add 2 tbsp of batter/below half level.
  4. Then add 2 tsp of chicken mix or Veggie mixed with its gravy or sauce.
  5. Top it with cheese cubes.
  6. Pour the rest of cavity with batter till brim fill.
  7. I always prefer to cover Poddu pan till lower side turns brown and top of it slightly dries.
  8. Generally this will take 3 to 4 minutes each side.
  9. With a Poddu stick flip the Poddu to other uncooked side and let it cook uncovered till its done.
  10. Serve Hot with sauce or gravy glaze, coconut Chutney base and mint sauce.
