ABOUT jaggery(nai) appam with icecream RECIPE

They are also called nai appam and especially made during krishna jayanti in kerala and can be cooked any time as snacks or breakfast

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 100 gm rice
  2. 75 gm jaggery
  3. 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
  4. 2 tsp desicated coconut

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak the rice for a few hours. Drain and grind to a paste. Mix jaggery and grind once again till smooth and thick.
  2. Pour enough milk to form a thick batter. Now mix cardamom and coconut and and cook in appam pot or drop teaspoonful of batter into hot ghee.
  3. Deep fry to a golden brown colour.
