Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup wheat flour
  2. 1/4 cup urad dal ( washed and soaked in water for 1 hour]
  3. Cut 2 green chillies in urad dal and grind.
  4. Salt
  5. 1/4th cup red chilli powder
  6. 1 tsp ginger paste
  7. Oil
  8. Hing [asafoetida] - 1 pinch
  9. 1 tsp coriander powder
  10. 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  11. 1 tsp saunf [fennel] powder
  12. Turmeric powder [haldi] - 1/2 tsp
  13. Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
  14. Cumin [jeera] seeds - 1 tsp
  15. Black pepper pwoder - 1/2 tsp
  16. Chopped tomatoes - 2
  17. Kasuri methi [dry fenugreek leaves] - 1 tbsp
  18. Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  19. Potatoes - 2

Instructions

  1. Method for aloo ki sabzi : Put some oil in a pan. Add dry red chillies, hing, jeera [cumin seeds] and black pepper.
  2. Add some crushed coriander seeds and saute for 2 min. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder and haldi. Cook for 2 min.
  3. Add chopped tomato and salt and mix well. Cook for 3 4 min. Add the potatoes and mix well.
  4. Add one glass of water and cook for 10 min. Add some garam masala and dry fenugreek leaves. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve.
  5. Method for the bedmi poori : To make the bedmi poori first of all we will knead the dough. Add 3 tsp oil and grounded dal to the flour.
  6. Add urad dal paste add salt red chilli ,hing cumin powder, ginger paste, coriander powder and fennel seeds powder .mix everything thoroughly.
  7. Knead a semi soft dough for the poori with wheat flour, salt, oil and water. Rest it for 10 minutes Now break it into small balls.
  8. Now stuff each ball with the dal paste, reshape them and roll the pooris pout. heat ample amount of oil in a kadhai, deep fry the stuffed pooris, and serve them with the potato curry.
