This is in a way a traditional breakfast dish. before people used to make kanji with it. but later started making upmav . A tasty & healthy meal, easily digestible.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. cooked podiyari or broken rice 3 cups
  2. chopped carrots ,cabbage & capsicum 1 cup.
  3. Chopped onion 1 big
  4. green chillies or red chillies 2 or 3 , chopped
  5. Salt
  6. Oil or ghee 1 1/2 tbsp
  7. Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
  8. pottu kadalai 1/4 tsp
  9. curry leaves. a few.

Instructions

  1. Cook broken rice with salt. do not over cook .
  2. Take a pan add ghee or oil. put mustard seeds & pottu kadalai. fry for a few sec.
  3. add onion green chillies & curry leaves. fry for a few sec.
  4. then add chopped vegetables , turmeric & salt. stir for a few min sprinkling some water.
  5. then add cooked rice . adjust seasoning.
  6. cook for a few min on low fire.
  7. remove & serve hot with pickle & bananas if u like.
