ABOUT Shahi Karele RECIPE

Karela is generally prepared by one or two styles. But i have made it in shahi way. Added dry fruits in it and made it super yummy.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 kg Karele
  2. 3 Onions
  3. 1/4 cups peanuts
  4. 1/4 cup cashews
  5. 1/4 cup raisins
  6. 1/4 cup chopped almonds
  7. Salt acc to taste
  8. 1/2 tbsp Red chilli powder
  9. 1/2 tbsp Coriander powder
  10. 1 lemon
  11. 2 tbsp sugar
  12. Oil to fry onions

Instructions

  1. Peel the karelas
  2. Cut in very thin slices
  3. Sprinkle salt on it and keep aside for 30 minutes
  4. After 30 minutes, strain the karelas
  5. Now chop onions
  6. Saute them in oil till they turn golden color
  7. Add peanuts, almonds in it
  8. Now add cashews and raisins in it
  9. Saute all
  10. Add salt, chilli powder and coriander powder in it
  11. Now add sugar in it
  12. And turn off the gas
  13. In the mean time, air fry the karele for 10 minutes at 140 degree
  14. Now take out the karele, and add it to the fried nuts and onions.
  15. Add lemon juice in it and let it be covered by lid for 2 minutes on low flame
  16. Off the flame, and mix it well
  17. Serve with lachha parantha
