as by name this khichdi is made of mix lentils and rice with veges like onions,tomatoes,green peas,carrots,bottle gourd cabbage etc its very healthy for old age people and pregnant ladies,its very nutritious the proportion of rice here I have used very less and lentils and veges more,here I have used home made ghee

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1/4 cup rice
  2. 1/4 cup tuver dal
  3. 1/4 cup yellow moong dal
  4. 1/4 cup green whole moong split dal
  5. 1/4 cup horse gram dal/chana dal
  6. 1tbsp carrot finely chopped
  7. 1tbsp green peas
  8. 1tbsp cabbage finely chopped
  9. 1/4 cup chopped bottle gourd
  10. 1tbsp cauliflower florets
  11. 1onion finely chopped
  12. 1tbsp finely chopped french beans
  13. 1chopped tomatoe
  14. 1green chilly crushed
  15. 4-5 garlic pods crushed
  16. 2tbsp ghee
  17. curry leaves 4-5
  18. 1tsp mustard seeds
  19. 1tsp cummin seeds
  20. pinch of asafoetida
  21. finely chopped corriander leaves
  22. lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. mix all the dals and rice
  2. wash 3-4 times with water
  3. soak for 2hrs
  4. add salt
  5. add turmeric powder
  6. add veges
  7. cook in pressure cooker with 3-4 whistle
  8. after cooker cools down remove khichdi
  9. in a pan add ghee
  10. add asafoetida
  11. add cummin seeds
  12. add mustard seeds
  13. add curry leaves
  14. add green chili
  15. add garlic
  16. add this to khichdi
  17. add corriander leaves
  18. drizzle some ghee over khichdi (optional)
  19. serve with lemon wedges and curd
