ABOUT Raddish leaf kadhi RECIPE

It's a recipe for elders, made with raddish leaf without using onions, raddish and garlic, a super unique pungent flavoured kadhi, if you love greens, step forward and add these tender green leaves into the kadhi, try this version.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Raddish leaf 300-400gm approximately (only leaves will use not the raddish)
  2. Oil 1 karchi
  3. Jeera 1/2teaspoon
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Red chillie 1/2teaspoon
  6. Turmeric 1/2teaspoon
  7. Hing a pinch
  8. Ginger 1 tukra (kaddukasd)
  9. Green chillies 2-3 chopped
  10. Curd 2 cups
  11. Besan 1 cup
  12. Water 8 full cups (2 cups will add in mooli leaves rest 6 cups will add in besan curd mixture)
  13. Coriander leaves for garnishing
  14. Black sarso seeds 1/4teaspoon for tempering
  15. Yellow sarso seeds 1/4teaspoon
  16. Dry kashmiri red chillies 3-4
  17. Jeera 1/2teaspoon for tempering
  18. Garam masala powder 1/4teaspoon
  19. For tempering oil 2 tablespoons

Instructions

  3. Take kadai, add oil
  4. Add jeera seeds
  5. Add grated ginger
  6. Add chopped green chillies
  7. Add raddish leaves to it
  8. Mix well
  9. Put 2 cups of water now, rest will use later
  10. Raddish leaves will get soft in water, keep on sim flame
  11. Close with the kadai lid
  12. Open the lid after few minutes, the leaves colour will change and gets soft too
  13. Add salt
  14. Add red chillie powder
  15. Add turmeric powder
  16. On the other side take a big bowl add besan to it
  17. Add hing
  18. Add water
  19. Blend well
  20. Now mix this in the above prepared mooli mixture
  21. Mix well
  22. After a proper boil add some water after seeing the consistency if needed
  23. Now take out 2-3 karchi of this in a bowl and again blend well with curd
  24. Blend again at this time with curd
  25. Put this again in the boiling kadhi
  26. Mix well, keep on sim flame till the besan is cooked properly
  27. Third side, make a tadka, take small pan add oil
  28. Take all three ingredients, jeera will add in next step
  29. Put in oil, keep flame low this time, because seeds will splutter , add jeera
  30. Put this on top of kadhi
  31. Put chopped coriander leaves on top
  32. Sprinkle garam masala and serve hot
