ABOUT Hot and Spicy Chicken Masala RECIPE

Simple home Indian style chicken masala which goes well with roti , naan, paratha or rice. This is made in various ways in every household across India. Regionwise taste differs slightly but the basic ingredients remain the same.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 750 gm of chicken (with bone , medium pieces)
  2. Onion , ginger , garlic paste 1 medium bowl
  3. 3 tsp of cumin and coriander powder
  4. Dahi or curd 1/2 cup
  5. Red chilli powder 4 to 5 tbsp
  6. 2 tsp of green chilli paste
  7. Ghee or clarified butter for cooking
  8. 1 tsp of garam masala (cloves, cinnamon, cardamom)
  9. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken pieces with all the spices overnight (except the ghee).
  2. Heat a deep bottomed pan and add ghee , when it is hot , add the marinated chicken pieces along with all the marination .
  3. Cover it and cook till the chicken gets cooked in it’s own juices , no need to add water —
  4. Turn off the flame when oil oozes out and sprinkle some garam masala and coriander leaves for garnishing —
