Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Chicken - 500gm
  2. Curd - 1/2 cup
  3. Ginger and garlic paste - 2 tbsp
  4. Turmeric powder - 1tbsp
  5. Dry red chilli - 4-5nobs
  6. salt as per taste
  7. Oil as per requirement
  8. Garlic cloves - 5-6 cloves
  9. Tamarind paste - 2 tbsp
  10. Scraped coconut - 1/2cup
  11. Onion - 2 large finely chopped
  12. fenugreak seeds - 1/2tbsp
  13. Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp
  14. Coriander seeds - 1 tbsp
  15. Black papper - 1tbsp
  16. curry leaves -1 string
  17. mustard seeds - 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Wash the chicken and keep it aside then in the chicken add 1 tbsp of ginger and garlic paste , 2 tbsp of curd, turmeric powder,little chili powder and mix it nicely and keep it aside for 15 mints.
  2. Then take a pan add little oil. Once oil is hot add the cumin seeds,coriander seeds,fenugreek seeds,dry red chili and saute it for few minutes then remove from heat and keep it aside.
  3. In the same pan add another 1tbsp of oil and when oil is hot add half chopped onion,garlic cloves,scraped coconut and saute it few minutes till the onions are soft.
  4. Allow all spices to be cool.Then take all the fried masala,put it into the blender and make fine paste adding little water.
  5. Take a pan add some oil , once oil is hot add the mustard seeds and let it crackle then add the curry leaves and chopped onions and saute it for few minutes till the onions are become transparent.
  6. Then add the ginger and garlic paste and saute it for few minutes till the raw smells go out. Now add the marinated chicken and mix it nicely ,let it cook for 5-10 mints with low flame.
  7. Then add the prepared masala paste,turmeric powder,salt mix it nicely and let it cook with the lid closed. Then after 5 mints add the tamarind paste into the chicken gravy and again let it cook until the chickens are well cooked.
  8. Once the chicken is cooked then add the chopped coriander leaves and switch off the flame.
  9. Your chicken curry is ready to eat . serve hot with rice or roti and enjoy your meal.
