ABOUT Matar Halwa RECIPE

Go green with the halwa made of green peas...enjoy the winter with this sweet dish!

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Green peas coarsely ground - 1 cup
  2. Mawa 1 cup
  3. Sugar 3/4 cup
  4. cardamom powder 1 tsp
  5. Desi ghee 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pan and add green peas paste
  2. Keep stirring over medium heat until peas starts leaving sides of the pan
  3. Add sugar with 1/4 cup water in another vessel. Boil until it reaches 3 string consistency. Add cardamom and mix well
  4. Add mawa and mix with peas
  5. Then add sugar syrup and stir well until mixture thickens and leaves sides of pan
  6. Enjoy hot matar ka halwa!
