ABOUT Shahi Kache Nariyal Kofta RECIPE

Kache Nariyal or Raw Coconut is super high-fibre content acts like a probiotic, feeding the good bacteria in the intestines. It's fresh juice or milk rich in electrolytes, it aids in hydration, providing minerals essential for bodily functions such as movement and brain function. Today such high rich ingredient has been used in Jai Ki Rasoi Se and made "Shahi Kache Nariyal Ke Kofte". This dish can be served with any flavoured rice or Indian bread.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Raw Coconut (Kacha Nariyal) - 1 Cup
  2. Gram Flour (Besan) - 2 Tablespoon
  3. Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 Tablespoon
  4. Cumin Powder - 1 Tablespoon
  5. Coriander Powder - 2 Tablespoon
  6. Cumin Seeds - 1 Teaspoon
  7. Cloves - 2 to 3
  8. Green Cardamom - 2 to 3
  9. Bay Leaves - 2 to 3
  10. Cinnamon - 1 inch
  11. Green Coriander - 1 Bunch , chopped
  12. Mint Leaves - 1 Bunch
  13. Red Chili Powder - 2 Tablespoon
  14. Turmeric Powder - 1 Teaspoon
  15. Green Chili - 5 to 6
  16. Whole Spice Powder - 1 Teaspoon
  17. Onion Paste - 1 Cup
  18. Tomato Puree - 1 Cup
  19. Cashew Nuts, Poppy Seeds , Dry Coconut Paste - 1 Cup
  20. Oil for shallow frying
  21. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Grind raw coconut, green coriander, mint Leave and green chilies to form smooth paste . Keep it aside
  2. Add gram flour, 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste, 1/2 teaspoon cumin, 1 tablespoon coriander, 1/2 teaspoon whole Spices, 1 tablespoon chili and 1/2 tsp turmeric Powder. Season with salt and mix well. Keep it aside
  3. Grease palms and make small sized balls from mixture
  4. Heat oil in a pan or kadai. Shallow fry koftas on low or medium flame till they become golden brown
  5. Remove the excess oil from the pan or kadai. Add cumin seeds, cloves, green cardamom, bay leaves and cinnamon. Allow them to crackle
  6. Add 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste and cook till raw aroma disappears
  7. Add onion paste and cook till it becomes golden brown
  8. Add all dry ingredients like - cumin, coriander powder, whole Spices, chili powder and turmeric Powder. Mix and cook till oil separates
  9. Add ground paste. Mix and cook till oil separates
  10. Now add the tomato puree and mix well. Add 1/2 cup of water and season it with salt. Bring to boil
  11. Add finely chopped green coriander , mint leaves and Slit green chilies and mix well
  12. Finally add koftas and mix . Cover and simmer for 10 minutes
  13. Serve hot with any flavored rice or Indian bread
