Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Split green mong dal- 100 g
  2. Raw Rice - 200 g
  3. Ginger- 1 inch
  4. Pepper - 8 to 10 (crushed )
  5. Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
  6. Green chilies - 2
  7. Curry leaves - 10
  8. Ghee - 2 tbsp
  9. Oil - 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak mong dal and raw rice for 15 min
  2. Heat ghee and oil in a cooker
  3. Add cumin seeds, chopped ginger, crushed pepper, chilies and Curry leaves.
  4. Stir Fry for 2 min . Add salt and mix well
  5. Add water double the quantity of green gram and raw rice. Bring to boil
  6. Add mong dal and rice and mix well
  7. Pressure cook for 3 whistles
  8. Serve hot with groundnut chutney.

Can I use vegetable oil in the place of ghee?
