ABOUT Kadai Mushroom RECIPE

Kadai Mushroom is a very simple yet tasty dish which can be made quickly. The fenugreek seeds and sauted mushrooms give this dish a magic taste.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Mushrooms tinned 400/500 gm cut into slices
  2. Capsicum green small diced
  3. Onion 1 large finely chopped
  4. Garlic 6 cloves finely chopped
  5. Ginger 1 inch finely chopped
  6. Fenugreek seeds (methi) 1/2 teaspoon
  7. Asafoetida powder (hing) 1/4 teaspoon
  8. Coriander powder 2 teaspoon
  9. Red Chilli Powder 1/2 teaspoon
  10. Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  11. Garam masala powder 1/4 teaspoon
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Coriander leaves for garnish
  14. Water around 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Saute the mushroom.slices in oil till water evaporates and mushroom slices are brown.
  2. Remove mushroom slices from pan.
  3. In the same oil add fenugreek seeds and asafoetida.
  4. When fenugreek seeds turn golden add the onions.
  5. Saute the onions till pink.
  6. Add ginger, garlic and green chillies and fry till raw smell goes.
  7. Add tomatoes and all the dry spice powders except garam masala.
  8. Cook on medium heat till oil separates.
  9. Add sauteed mushrooms and diced capsicum.
  10. Saute for a minute.
  11. Add 1/4 cup water and garam masala
  12. Cover and cook for 10 minutes
  13. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with roti
