ABOUT Baby Corn Fritters RECIPE

Fritters are extremely popular roadside snacks all over India and referred as Pakora, Bhaji or Bhajiya. It is being prepared from variety of vegetables and tastes awesome with any dip or garlic chutney. It is very easy to prepare and quick recipe with few ingredients. In this recipe I have prepared bhaji or pakora using baby corns. Marinated In masalas and salt, coated with gram flour batter and deep fried.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Baby Corns – 8-9
  2. Gram Flour / Besan – 1 cup
  3. Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp
  4. Garam masala – 1 teaspoon
  5. Minced garlic – 1/2 teaspoon (Optional)
  6. Minced onion – 1 tablespoon (Optional)
  7. Asafoetida – A pinch
  8. Finely chopped coriander – 2 tablespoon
  9. Oil for Frying
  10. Salt to taste.
  11. Water to make thick batter
  12. For Garnishing – Sliced Capsicum

Instructions

  1. Wash, pat dry and cut baby corns lengthwise.
  2. Rub salt, garam masala, red chili powder. Keep aside for 15-20 minutes for marination.
  3. In a bowl, take gram flour. Add minced garlic, onion, Asafoetida, salt and finely chopped coriander. Mix well.
  4. Add water slowly at a time and make thick batter.
  5. Heat oil in a pan or wok.
  6. Dip baby corns into batter, coat properly from all the sides and fry on medium low flame till golden and crisp.
  7. Serve hot with dal rice or any dip or chutney.
