ABOUT Gulkand paan RECIPE

This is the easiest recipe for making gulkand paan. These are just perfect for Maa Laxmi Diwali festival occasion and one of the most favourite Indian traditional sweets. This is my grand mother in law's recipe. Every Diwali we follow this tradition. I have learned from my mother in law. It's very yummy and delicious sweet.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Ash gourd 1 kg
  2. Sugar 2 cup
  3. Green food colour 1/4 teaspoon
  4. Gulkand 1 cup
  5. Paan bahar 1/2 teaspoon
  6. Chopped almond 2 teaspoon
  7. Chopped cashew 2 teaspoon
  8. Cloves 15
  9. Silver varak sheets for garnish 2 - 3

Instructions

  1. Peel the skin off the ash gourd.
  2. Cut into pieces in a triangular shapes
  3. Boil it for 15 minutes.
  4. In a pan add sugar, water, green food colour and boiled for sugar syrup.
  5. Now add all triangular shape pieces in sugar syrup and boil for 5 minutes.
  6. In a bowl add gulkand, paan bahar, chopped almonds, cashews and mix well.
  7. Now fill the gulkand in triangular shape.
  8. Cover with other triangular pieces and close with cloves.
  9. Now garnish with silver varak and serve it.
