ABOUT Chocolate poke cake RECIPE

Delicious cake poked all over and filled with custard and nuts . Topped with whipped cream and Oreo biscuits . it's simply irresistible.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Chocolate sponge cake .
  2. Custard powder 2 tablespoon
  3. Sugar 2 teaspoon
  4. Milk 250 ml
  5. Almonds ( chopped) 10 to 15
  6. Oreo chocolate cream biscuits 1 big packet
  7. Whipping cream ( whipped till you get soft peaks) 1/2 cup
  8. For cake.
  9. All purpose flour 1/2 cup
  10. Cocoa powder 3/4 cup
  11. Sugar 1 cup
  12. Curd 1 teaspoon
  13. Oil 3/4 cup
  14. Baking powder 1 teaspoon
  15. N/A
  16. Baking soda 1/2 teaspon
  17. Vannila essence 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Method Mix curd and sugar in a bowl, till sugar dissolves completely, then add baking soda and baking powder and keep aside for 10 minutes . Sift maida 4 to 5 times along with coco powder . You will see that the curd has become frothy , now add vanilla essence and oil to it and mix . Add sifted maida and coco powder to it . Mix well . Now take a greased pan , dust it with maida . Pour the cake batter into it and bake for 30-35 minutes at 180 degrees or till a tooth pick comes out clean . and keep aside for 10 minutes . Sift maida 4 to 5 times along with coco powder . You will see that the curd has become frothy , now add vanilla essence and oil to it and mix . Add sifted maida and coco powder to it . Mix well . Now take a greased pan , dust it with maida . Pour the cake batter into it and bake for 30-35 minutes at 180 degrees or till a tooth pick comes out clean . Bake it in the dish in which you will assemble and serve .
  2. Let the cake cool down and then poke the cake as shown in the picture .
  3. Heat milk in a pan along with sugar and custard powder, cook till it thickens and let it cool .
  4. Now fill half of the cavities of the cake with chopped almonds .
  5. Pour custard all over the poked cake .
  6. Spread some more chopped almonds over it
  7. Take few Oreo biscuits and grind it along with its cream .
  8. Now take some whipped cream add the crushed Oreo biscuits to it and mix well .
  9. Spread the cream all over the cake evenly
  10. Now take few more Oreo biscuits .. separate its cream and roughy break them with hands into small bits .
  11. Now spread them all over the cake .
  12. Cover the dish with a cling film and refrigerate for atleast 3 hours .
  13. Cut and serve chilled .
