Hello frriends today i will make delicious punjabi chole, which is very easy and tasty..

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 big bowl of Chole or chickpeas
  2. Baking soda- 1 pinch
  3. Salt to taste
  4. 3 medium sized onions
  5. 2 tomatoes
  6. garlic cloves 8-10
  7. Ginger 2 inch
  8. 1/2 cup Yoghurt
  9. A bag of tea leaves
  10. Red chilli powder 1/2 small Spoon
  11. Water : 3 cups for whistel and 3 cups for gravy
  12. Kashmiri red chilli powder 1 small Spoon
  13. Haldi powder 1/2 small Spoon
  14. Garam masala 1 small Spoon
  15. Dhaniya powder 1 small spoon
  16. Chole masala powder 1 spoon
  17. Ammchur powder 1/2 small spoon
  18. Dried spices- a bay leaves, dal chini, 2 small ilaychi, 4 cloves or long, patthar fool (small Spoon)
  19. Oil- 2 tablespoon
  20. Coriander for garnish

Instructions

  1. Wash a bowl of chickpeas and pour water and add 1 pinch of baking soda and salt and soak it overnight.
  2. In the morning drain the water and wash it again thoroughly.
  3. Take a pressure cooker, put chickpeas, a bag of tea leaves , salt and water (as mentioned above) or 3 cups into it. Let it cook in medium flame till 5-6 whistles.
  4. Now take a jar, add pieces of onions, tomatoes, garlic cloves and pealed ginger into it to blend.
  5. Take a kadhai, pour oil into it, after heated add all the dried spices mentioned above when it crackled add the blended paste into it.
  6. When you see the oil comes up add the spices like salt, haldi powder, both the red chillies powder, garam masala, amchur powder ,dhaniya powder and let in cook for 2 mins.
  7. Add the yoghurt into it. Again stir the gravy so that the oil comes up.
  8. Now open the cooker, pour all the gravy into it
  9. Add chole masala into the cooker, if required add more water, take out few chickpeas into a bowl and mashed it to thicken the gravy , pour it again and closed the cooker and let it cook for another 2 whistle so that every thing will be mixed equally.
  10. Open the cooker, garnish it with some coriander and transfer it into a bowl. Your Punjabi chole is ready to serve.
