ABOUT Mouth watering Gobhi aloo RECIPE

Cauliflower is called as Gobhi in Hindi and potato is called as aloo. This is a very famous dish all over the world. Gobhi Aloo is a landmark in Indian in cooking; as in ‘Bend it like Beckham’ , the mother demands her daughter to learn to make Aloo Gobhi. This is a delicious preparation and can be served with any of the Indian breads. Gobhi aloo is very easy to make north Indian delicacy. Please try this recipe and do share your valuable comments

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Cauliflower 1 medium
  2. 1 tomato
  3. 2 cup water
  4. Chopped coriander leaves 2 tbsp
  5. Oil 2-3 tbsp
  6. Amchur powder 1 tsp
  7. Green chilies 2
  8. Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  9. Asafoetida ¼ tsp
  10. Salt 1¼ tsp or to taste
  11. Turmeric powder ½ tsp
  12. Red chili powder 1 tsp
  13. Coriander powder 2 tsp
  14. Coriander powder 2 tsp
  15. Salt 1¼ tsp or to taste
  16. Potatoes 2 medium
  17. Green peas ¾ cups, I have used frozen peas
  18. Ginger 1-1/2 inch

Instructions

  1. Cut and wash the cauliflower florets and pat dry on the kitchen paper
  2. Peel, wash and cut the potatoes into one and a half inch pieces.
  3. Boil the green peas for 5 minutes and keep aside.
  4. Peel , wash, and finely grate the ginger. Remove the stem, wash, and finely chop the green chilies.
  5. In the wok/skillet heat oil on medium heat . Add cumin seeds. When seeds change the color add asafoetida.
  6. Then add the potatoes.fry them until golden in colour or liitle soft after that add the cauliflower florets and add the 2cup of water and boil them until soft not mashy.
  7. When water is absorbed add the grated ginger ,give it a mix after that add turmeric powder,red chilli powder,garama masala ,coriander powder and amchur powder, and yes salt too according to taste. Give it a nice mix.
  8. add green chillies ,boiled peas and tomatoes.
  9. cover the lid for 5 mis. after 5 mins garnish with fresh coriander leaves. serve it with plapn chapatai or pain paratha and poori.
