ABOUT Fulkopir Dalna RECIPE

A traditional Bengali menu of Cauliflower and Potatoes usually served with luchi/poori in breakfast. Its also a signature dish considered among the vegetarian side dishes.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Cauliflower florets 400gms
  2. Potato 2 medium size
  3. Tomato grated 1 big
  4. Mustard Oil 2 tbsp
  5. Ghee 1 tsp
  6. Bay leaf 1
  7. Dry whole red chilli 1
  8. Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  9. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  10. Crushed ginger 1 tsp
  11. Red chilli powder 1tsp
  12. Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
  13. Cumin Powder 1/2 Tsp
  14. Salt 1 tbsp
  15. Sugar 1/2 tsp
  16. Garam masala powder 1/4 tsp
  17. Coriander leaves chopped to garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat mustard oil in a wok
  2. Fry the cauliflower and potatoes with a pinch of salt and turmeric for 3 to 4 minutes and keep aside
  3. Now to the remaining oil, temper with bay leaf, dry red chilli, cumin seeds.
  4. When the cumin seeds crackle, lower the flame and add the turmeric powder,red chilli powder, cumin powder and coriander powder and salt.
  5. Immediately add grated Tomato and crushed ginger. Mix and Fry till oil separates.
  6. Add the fried vegetables. Give it a good mix and cook for 2 to 3 minutes
  7. Adjust salt and sugar.
  8. Add 2 cups of water. Cover and cook till the vegetables are properly cooked
  9. Add ghee and garam masala powder. Mix and switch off the flame
  10. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves
