ABOUT Massaledaar Gobhi Mussalam RECIPE

Spicy whole cauliflower steamed and fried to blend all the spices and enhance its flavour.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 medium whole cauliflower
  2. 1 big sized onion
  3. 1 big tomato
  4. 3 GARLIC CLOVES
  5. 2 inch ginger piece
  6. Salt to taste
  7. 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  8. 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  9. 1/2 teaspoon anardana powder
  10. 1/4th teaspoon turmeric powder
  11. 1 teaspoon kitchen king masala
  12. 2 tablespoons chopped Coriander
  13. 2 green chillies

Instructions

  1. Take a medium size cauliflower.
  2. Destem it from the back keeping the florets intact from the base.
  3. Steam the whole cauliflower in salt and turmeric water or parboil it for around 4 minutes. The florets should be little firm like in the image and ahould not become mushy.
  4. Chop all the vegetables. Heat oil in a hollow wok, add chopped garlic, ginger and then onions. Saute till golden brown.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes and all the spices. Fry till the spices are properly mixed and the mixture starts leaving oil.Adjust the seasoning.
  6. Put the whole par boiled cauliflower in the spicr mixture, upside down and with the help of the spoon fill in the spice mixture in between the cauliflower florets.
  7. Switch on the flame and let the cauliflower cook for around two minutes, simultaneously filling the spice mixture every now and then.
  8. Remove from fire, garnish with chopped coriander and chopped green chillies.
  9. Serve and enjoy as an appetizer or side dish with rice.
