ABOUT Honey chilli Bangalore Iyengar style Cake (Eggless) RECIPE

Honey chilli cake is a Indian bakery style eggless cake. I twisted honey cake with red chilli powder to give it extra hint. Honey cakes are made by soaking orange cake in honey syrup and than topped with dry coconut powder and jam frosting. It is very famous cake in Bangalore India. All ingredients easily available in your kitchen pantry..A must try cake.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1-1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour
  2. 1/2 can or 200 ml condensed milk
  3. 3/4 cup orange juice i used fresh orange juice with pulp
  4. 2 tbsp powdered sugar or more
  5. 1/2 cup oil. I used canola oil
  6. 1 tsp baking soda
  7. 1 tbsp lemon juice
  8. 1 tsp vanilla essence
  9. 1 pinch orange food colour
  10. For honey syrup
  11. 1/4 cup Honey
  12. 1/2 cup water
  13. 2 drop rose essence
  14. For chilli jam frosting
  15. 4 tbsp mix fruit jam or any jam of your choice
  16. 1 Cup water
  17. 1 tsp Chilli Powder
  18. 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  19. FOR GARNISH
  20. Dry coconut powder

Instructions

  1. Take two bowl.add dry ingredients in one bowl like all purpose flour baking soda
  2. In another bowl Add oil
  3. Add orange juice
  4. Add condensed milk, food colour, vanilla essence
  5. Add powdered sugar
  6. Mix well . Now mix dry and wet ingredients together
  7. Squeeze lemon juice.mix well. Now pour this batter over Grease baking square pan. Tap it so that air can come out
  8. Bake it in preheated oven at 180'C or 360 F at 30 to 35 minutes
  9. Cake is rising
  10. Meanwhile we will prepare chilli jam . Heat a pan add water mixed fruit jam, add powdered sugar.
  11. Add chilli powder
  12. Mix well. Now cook it till it becomes thick and spread like consistency on low flame. In another bowl add 1/4 cup honey.
  13. Add water add rose essence. Mix well.
  14. Heat a pan add honey mixture. Let it boil. Switch off the flame. Let it cool.
  15. Check the cake in between. Check it by toothpick test. If it comes out clean cake is ready. Mine cake done in 30 minutes.
  16. Take it out from oven. And let it cool. When it cool take it out from pan. Turn it. Make holes with help of toothpick in cake.
  17. Collect all garnishing ingredients
  18. Pour honey syrup with help of spoon over cake
  19. Spread all honey syrup over cake and make it moist
  20. Now pour chilli jam over it
  21. Spread it well.
  22. Garnish it with coconut powder.
  23. Cut it in pastry shape.
  24. Enjoy soft moist honey chilli cake
