ABOUT Lila Bataka Ni Chips Nu Shaak RECIPE

Lila bataka ni chips nu shaak are potato chips cooked with spinach and tomato, onions, chilly, ginger, garlic and spicemix. Its a Gujarati snack/vegetable. I make this vegetable in my style. Kids love to eat potato so I make more healthy options of vegetable for them. Tasty .

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 500 grams potato
  2. 250 grams spinach
  3. 4 green chilly
  4. 1 inch ginger
  5. 6 cloves garlic
  6. 2 onions chopped
  7. tomato puree from 3 medium sized tomato
  8. oil 1 tablespoon
  9. ghee 2 teaspoon
  10. hing (pinch)
  11. red chilly powder 1 teaspoon
  12. turmeric 1/2 teaspoon
  13. cumin coriander powder 1 teaspoon
  14. salt to taste
  15. kitchen king garam masala 1 teaspoon
  16. kasoori methi powder 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Take potatoes, wash it and make chips with chips maker.
  2. Deep fry the potato chips and keep aside.
  3. Take ginger, chilly and garlic and blend it.
  4. Wash the spinach and boil it for 3-4 minutes in hot water and keep it in cold water, then make green paste.
  5. Heat the oil and ghee In kadai. Add hing, then chilly ginger garlic paste and saute.
  6. Then add onion and mix it. Cook it till it becomes soft and pink.
  7. Now add tomato paste and stir it.
  8. Now add red chilly powder, salt , cumin coriander powder, turmeric, kitchen king garam masala and mix it. Then saute it till it leaves the side of kadai.
  9. Then add spinach /palak paste.
  10. Mix and simmer it for 3-4 minutes.
  11. Then add potato chips and sugar-cardamom powder. And mix well.
  12. Simmer it for few minutes till all flavours mix with potato chips.
  13. Ready To serve.
  14. Goes well with paratha, butter roti, naan or chapathi.
