Presenting a fusion dessert recipe..!!! The idea comes from KHARVAS ( milk pudding prepared from special milk called colostrum milk) and a famous sweet popular by the name 'BOMBAY HALWA' ( cornflour, water and flavour). Seems to be a strange combination but believe me turned out amazing. ...!!!! The milk pudding (white) is prepared using no gelatin, no agar agar , no jelly powder that's the highlight of the recipe. The pomegranate pudding (pink) is prepared using fresh pomegranate juice and cornflour again no gelatin, no agar agar or jello powder ....a rare fruit used in a dessert...the sweet tangy taste adds uniqueness to the dessert. ..!! Enjoy the silky texture of the dessert which just melts in the mouth making you crave for more......!!!!!
Awesome!
White pudding: Take hung curd, milk, condensed milk and half of cornflour.
Mix well, making sure you have a smooth mixture.
Add cardamom powder. Mix.
Transfer the mixture into a plate or mold in which you desire to cook the mixture.
Take cooker, heat some water in it, place the plate, close the lid without the whistle.
Steam the milk mixture on a medium flame for about 20 to 25 minutes.
Check by inserting a toothpick whether cooked.
If done remove from the flame. Let it cool down.
Once cool, refrigerate it for some time. Meanwhile start with the pink pudding.
Pomegranate pudding: Dissolve the remaining cornflour in water, now add the pomegranate juice and mix well.
Transfer the mixture in a pan.
On a medium flame place the pan and start stirring continuously.
You will notice that the mixture turns thick as you go on stirring it.
Once thick enough that it can be molded, switch off the flame.
Transfer the mixture to a mold or bowl you want to set the mixture.
Place this too in the fridge until set.
Approximately 1/2 -1 hour it will require.
Check with both the pudding. Now comes assembling. ....used a flower shaped cutter for both the puddings.
Place milk pudding in a serving plate, place the pomegranate pudding on top of it.....drizzle some pomegranate juice.
Enjoy it chilled....!!!!
