Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Milk-1 litre
  2. Mawa-250 grams
  3. Sugar-1 cup
  4. Cardamom powder-1/4 teaspoon
  5. Saffron -a pinch
  6. Pistachios-6-7 chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat milk in a big wide and heavy bottom pan.
  2. When milk start boiling, a layer of malai will start forming on milk.
  3. Now take the malai with help of spatula and keep collecting it side of the pan.
  4. Repeat the process till milk reduces to 1/4th of its original quantity, stirring continuously.
  5. Now add sugar, cardamom powder, saffron, chopped pistachios and cook on slow flame for another 5 minutes.
  6. Now add mawa and stir continuously on slow flame till you get barfi consistency.
  7. Now switch off the flame and pour this on a greased plate or tin.
  8. Keep in fridge for 1 hour, serve chilled.
