When onions, green chillies are sauted with some tempering of jeera and Urad dal a white chutney is born. Tamarind gives the necessary tangyness to the spicy chutney. Enjoy it with any of the south Indian breakfast like idlis, dosas, uttapams etc.
Delicious chutney.
Chop the onion into thin slices
Add 2 tsps of oil to a pan and start the tempering
Add the cumin then the Urad dal
As it browns add the broken green chillies
Saute for a while then add the onions
Add the curry leaves
Add the tamarind ball and saute
Now keep sautéeing till all the onions are evenly browned in low or medium heat
Now cool it and grind to a smooth and soft paste with minimum water
Ready to it.
