Sunnundalu - urad dal laddu is a very traditional sweet in Andhra. It is traditionally made during festivals, marriages, baby showers. This laddu is considered as a healthy and energy giving sweet.
Heat a heavy-bottomed pan and fry the urad dal till they turn into a golden brown colour on a medium to low flame. Stir continuously. Then set aside to cool.
Take the cardamom seeds and add it with sugar, then grind them together into a fine powder and set aside. Also grind the fried urad dal into a coarse powder. ( It should be sand like.)
Remove and mix it with sugar and cardamom mixture to combine everything well together.
Heat ghee in a pan, then little by little pour this into the dal and sugar mixture to make laddus.
Store in a airtight container as this laddus will stay for months.
