ABOUT Beetroot Tarts with sweet tomato RECIPE

These crispy small,thick,crusty tarts form a great base desserts for parties or family gatherings.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Maida. 1 1/2 cup
  2. Castor sugar. 2 tbsp
  3. Butter. 1/2 cup
  4. Grated beet root. 2 tbsp
  5. Salt Pinch
  6. For sweet tomato chutney
  7. Red tomato slices. 1 cup
  8. Sugar. 3 tbsp
  9. Red chilli. 1
  10. Salt Pinch
  11. Oil. 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven at 180 degree centigrade for 10 min.
  2. Cream the butter till it soft. Add castor sugar and cream it till sugar dissolved.
  3. Now add grated beet root and mix it well.
  4. Now sieve the flour on the creamed butter .
  5. Mix it well and keep it in a refrigerator for 15 min
  6. Roll the dough into 3 mm thick and cut into shape.
  7. Dust the tart moulds with the flour and set the shapes​ into the moulds evenly.
  8. Bake it for 20 min at 180 degrees Celsius.
  9. Demould the tarts and keep aside.
  10. Heat a pan along with oil, In this add red chill,then sliced tomatoes, sugar and salt and mix it well.Now cover it with lid and cook till it is done.
  11. Fill the beet root tarts with sweet tomato chutney.
