ABOUT RED CHILLI CHUTNEY RECIPE

RED CHILLI CHUTNEY!! Last week my whole family was suffering from severe cold.We were carving for something hot and spicy.Then my friend Ms.Chachithra from Florida called me and while talking she told me about this chilli chutney,Immediately I gave a try and it was complete satisfaction for our spicy carving.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Onions – 4 nos ( medium sized).
  2. Dry red chillies – 5 nos.
  3. Garlic – 7 pods.
  4. Tamarind – a small gooseberry sized.
  5. Tomatoes – 2 no ( small) ( optional).
  6. Salt – as required.
  7. Curry leaves – a sprig.
  8. Mustard – 1/4 tsp.
  9. Channa dal , Urad dal – 1/2 tsp.
  10. Gingelly oil – 3 tsp.

Instructions

  1. Grind onions , dry red chillies , garlic , tamarind , tomatoes,salt to fine puree.
  2. Heat oil in wide kadai , followed by mustard , curry leaves ,channa dal,urad dal and saute till golden brown.
  3. Then add ground puree and let the chutney boil in medium flame till oil separates.
  4. Serve hot spicy chutney for Idli ,Dosa of your choice.
