ABOUT Tikhat/Garlic Chutney RECIPE

Basic recipe of garlic chutney from maharastra. Main ingredients are dry coconut and garlic with dry chillies . It tastes superb with any fried pakodas specially with vada pav. you can spread little amount of chutney on a chapati or paratha and can have it after rolling. This way also it tastes awesome.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Dry coconut grated 1/2 cup
  2. Garlic 1 pod (15-18 cloves)
  3. 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  4. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  5. Red chilly powder 2 teaspoons
  6. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Dry roast grated coconut till light brown in colour.
  2. Dry roast sesame seeds and cumin seeds.
  3. Let cool coconut, sesame seeds and cumin seeds
  4. Peel garlic cloves.
  5. In a mixer grinder coarsely grind garlic, cocoanut , sesame seeds, cumin seeds along with salt and red chilly powder.
  6. It is ready. you can keep it for a week without refrigeration .
