ABOUT Chocolate Orange Delight RECIPE

This sweet my mom used to make whenever we got stars and excellent in our studies, as this was our favorite, this recipe she learned it from her Bengali neighbour.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For the orange filling:
  2. 12 segments of orange peeled
  3. 1 tbsp sugar
  4. 1 tsp orange flavored powder (like tang)
  5. 1 tsp agaragar powder
  6. 1/2 cup orange juice
  7. For the Orange Delight:
  8. 1 cup crumbled cottage cheese
  9. 5 heaped tbsp milk powder or crumbled mawa
  10. 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  11. 1 tbsp orange marmalade
  12. Orange juice (only if needed to knead)
  13. Grated 2 tbsp white chocolate
  14. For coating:
  15. 1 tsp orange marmalade
  16. 400 gm whitechocolate grated
  17. 2 tbsp chopped cashewnuts

Instructions

  1. For the orange filling: Heat the sugar in a non-stick pan till it is lightly caramelized, add the orange segments and gently toss them in it, taking care that the segments do not break. Gently dip them in the agar agar mixture one by one.
  2. Lay them on a butter paper, sprinkle orange flavored tang over it. Keep in fridge to cool till needed.
  3. For the Orange Delight: Mix all the ingredients in a bowl, and knead it till the mixture becomes smooth. Divide this into 22 to 24 equal portions and keep aside.
  4. Take 1 portion of the prepared cottage cheese mixture, place 1 orange segment on it and cover. Seal the edges of the cheese mixture properly so that the orange is sandwiched in between.
  5. Repeat this process with the remaining 22 pieces to make 11 more orange delight and keep on buttered paper. Melt the chocolate & add orange marmalade mix well.
  6. Now take one spoon of melted chocolate and coat chocolate on the surface of the prepared sweets or smear over it. Place it on the butter paper cups. Let it be in the fridge for a few hours until set.
  7. When set completely, garnish with chopped cashew nuts and grated white chocolate and orange segments & serve.
