ABOUT Goan Prawn Recheado RECIPE

A spicy tangy and sweet recipe is a perfect match with the prawns.I had this first time in Goa and I couldn't stop myself from finishing the entire plate.Hope you enjoy cooking the recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Prawns- 250 gms
  2. Dried Red Kashmiri Chillies- (6-7)
  3. Ginger- 1 inch
  4. Garlic- 3 cloves
  5. Coconut Toddy Vinegar or white vinegar-3 tbsp
  6. Cumin Seeds- 1 tsp
  7. Cloves- 3
  8. Cinnamon- 1/2 inch stick
  9. Whole peppercorn- 6
  10. Onions- 2 medium (sliced)
  11. Sugar- 1 tbsp
  12. Salt- as per taste
  13. Oil- 2 tbsp
  14. Coriander-For garnishing

Instructions

  1. Clean the prawns and put a little salt on the prawns.
  2. Soak the dry red chillies, cloves, cinnamon, cumin, peppercorns, ginger, garlic, salt, sugar in the vinegar for 15 minutes.
  3. Add 1 tbsp oil to the spices and grind to a smooth paste.
  4. Now in a heavy bottomed pan add oil and fry the onions till golden.
  5. Meanwhile, add the prawns in the spice paste and then add the prawn's spice mixture to the onions.
  6. Adjust the sugar and salt. Cook till the prawns are done.Garnish with finely chopped coriander. Serve with some buttered rice or garlic bread and lots of love.
