Shahi Paneer is one of my most loved recipes by my family. It is an absolutely lip smacking dish which is hard to resist.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Paneer 250gms
  2. Onion 1 chopped
  3. Tomatoes 5
  4. Cinnamon Stick 1
  5. cumin seeds 1/4 th tsp
  6. Ginger pieces 1 tsp
  7. Kasoori Methi 1 tsp
  8. Garlic pieces 1 tsp
  9. Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  10. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  11. Tomato ketchup 1 tablespoon
  12. kaju 4-5
  13. Butter 50 grams
  14. Milk 1/2 kg
  15. fresh cream ( optional)
  16. Salt to taste
  17. A pinch of turmeric powder

Instructions

  1. Take a big wok and put some oil in it and add cumin seeds( jeera),Dalcheeni stick ( cinnamon),Ginger garlic pieces
  2. After that add onions cook it on a medium flame and let them golden brown in colour
  3. keep it aside so that it cools down
  4. Take tomatoes , boil and churn them in a mixture grinder and sieve it to prepare a thick tomato puree.
  5. Now churn the tomato puree, 4-5 kaju and the cooked onions together in the mixer grinder to get a smooth paste
  6. Now take a wok and add the prepared batter
  7. Add milk and cook it on low flame for 15-20 minutes
  8. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and garam masala and tomato ketchup
  9. Add paneer of desired shape and add kasoori methi
  10. Garnish with coriander and fresh cream( optional)
  11. Serve with mirchi parantha and chatpate onions and green chutney
