ABOUT Chickpeas tikki RECIPE

Chickpeas are rich in fibre, potassium, vitamin c and vitamin B-6, all of which support heart and health. Fibre helps to lower the cholesterol in the blood and reduces the risk of heart disease.Carrots are a rich source of antioxidants. So this recipe is delicious and healthy for everyone.f

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Chickpeas - 1 cup(boiled)
  2. Peas - ½ tbsp (boiled)
  3. Carrot-1 small (grated)
  4. Green chilli - 1 (chopped)
  5. Onion - 1(chopped)
  6. Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp (chopped)
  7. Oil- for shallow frying
  8. Semolina - for coating
  9. Dry spices:
  10. Red chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
  11. Asafoetida a pinch
  12. Chaat masala ¼ tsp
  13. Salt as per taste
  14. For garnishing
  15. Pomegranate pearls as required
  16. Cucumber slices as required
  17. Tomato slices as required

Instructions

  1. Mash the boiled chickpeas in a bowl.
  2. Now add the boiled peas and mash it again. Add all the other ingredients except oil and semolina. Mix well.
  3. Now take a little amount of mixture and form it into a tikki. Repeat with the whole mixture.
  4. Now tikkies are ready for frying so coat them with semolina and shallow fry on non-stick pan with oil.
  5. Our tikkies are ready now. Serve with cucumber,tomato, pomegranate and coriander chutney.
