The veey famous restaurant style chicken tikka masala, an absolute delish and east recipe to make.
Mix all the ingredients mentioned under "marination" and add the chicken pieces into it.
Keep the chicken marinated overnight .
Take a griddle pan and heat some oil in it.
Add the chicken pieces that were marinating. Roast them on all the sides. Alternatively the chicken can also be cooked in an oven or in a tandoor.
Keep the chicken pieces aside and do not throw away the left over marination.
Now in a heavy bottomed kadhai, heat oil.
Add the cardamom and cinnamon followed by the chopped onion.
Saute till golden brown and then add the ginger garlic paste.
Once the raw smell is gone, add the powdered masalas, salt and stir.
Cool for few seconds and then add the tomato puree.
Cook on a low flame with a lid on with occasional stirring.
Then add the curd and left over marination into the masala.
Cook further till the masala leaves oil.
Add water and bring upto boil.
Then add the cooked chicken pieces, fry the masala on a high flame for few seconds.
Finally crush the kasuri methi and add into it. Check for salt and then serve.
