ABOUT Bassar Ji Khatain ( Onion Pickle ) RECIPE

Traditional sindhi pickle recipe with onions. It is specially made and relished in summers.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 250 gm - Small onions
  2. 2 tbsp - Yellow mustard seeds
  3. 1/2 tsp - Salt
  4. 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  5. 1/2 tsp - Red chilli powder
  6. 11/2 Cup - Water

Instructions

  1. Grind the yellow mustard seeds and keep aside.
  2. Peel the onions and put a cross + mark on top. Take a container, add onions, water and all dry spices and salt and mix up well.
  3. Keep the container in sun for 2-3 days till the water gets little tangy.
  4. The onion pickle is ready to eat. However store in fridge later for further use.
  5. The pickle goes well with rice too and even the tangy water can be drunk as such.
