ABOUT Ridge Gourd In Milk Gravy RECIPE

This a common accompaniment to rice or roti or dosas in Andhra households.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 Cup - Ridge gourd peeled and cut into small cubes
  2. 3/4 Cup - Onions, cut finely
  3. 1/2 Cup - Milk
  4. 2 - Green chilies, chopped
  5. 1/2 tbsp - Sambar powder or sambar kaaram
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Coriander and curry leaves

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a frying pan, add mustard seeds, jeera, urad dal. When they splutter add the onions,green chilies, ridge gourd, haldi, sambar powder and salt.
  2. Mix thoroughly, cover and cook till done. Add milk give mix and immediately switch off the flame.
  3. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
