ABOUT Vegetable Buckwheat Khichri RECIPE

Buckwheat improves heart health by lowering the Cholesterol and blood pressure. It contains disease fighting antioxidants. It provides highly digestible proteins. Its higj fiber contents improves digestion. It also helps to prevent diabetes. After knowing all these benefits I have started including it in my grocery shopping list and of course diet too.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Buckwheat 2 cups
  2. Onions 2
  3. Carrot 1
  4. Green capsicum 1/2, Red Capsicum 1/4, Yellow Capsicum 1/2
  5. Paneer cubes 12 to 15
  6. Garlic chopped 1 tsp
  7. Ginger grated 1 tsp
  8. Khada masala a few pieces for seasoning
  9. Dhania powder 1 tsp
  10. Green chilli, chopped 2
  11. Coriander leaves, finely chopped 1 tsp
  12. Oil 2 tsp
  13. Salt to taste
  14. Turmeric 1/4 tsp
  15. Ghee 2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Wash and cook buckwheat in double the quantity of water in a broad pan.
  2. Chop Onions and Capsicums and Carrot.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, add khada masala, let it splitter, add onions, saute for 2 minutes. Add garlic and ginger. Now add chopped bell peppers and Carrot. Saute for a while.
  4. Add all the masala mentioned i ningredients. Adjust salt. Add chopped paneer cubes.
  5. Now add cooked buckwheat, mix well. Add 2 tsp ghee and cover for some time.
  6. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve with curd/ buttermilk / soup of your choice.
