Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. For Afghan Masala : Cloves - 5
  2. Cumin seeds - 1tsp
  3. Cinnamon sticks - 3 to 4 small
  4. Green cardamom - 5
  5. Black Cardamom - 5
  6. Pepper seeds - 10
  7. For Rice : Basmati Rice - 1cup
  8. Oil - 2 tbsp
  9. Garlic - 1/4 cup chopped
  10. Beans, chopped - 1/2 cup
  11. Potato - 1 chopped
  12. Onion - 1 chopped
  13. Green peas - 1/2 cup
  14. Tomato - 1/2 cup chopped
  15. Coriander leaves - 1/2 cup
  16. Turmeric powder - 1tsp
  17. Red chIlie powder - 1tsp
  18. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. First Soak the rice in warm water for 30 minutes Roast the spices : cinnamon, green cardamom, black Cardamom, cumin, cloves, pepper seeds and grind them.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add garlic, when the color changes add onion, potatoes. When potatoes get half cooked add beans then peas and tomatoes.
  3. Cook on a low flame for 5 minutes and add rice. Mix properly.
  4. Add salt and Afghan masala, cook for 2 minutes and add enough water to cook the rice.
  5. Cover and cook it well. Stir in every 5 minutes. Cook on low flame for 15 to 20 minutes.
  6. Once the rice is cooked properly serve with raita.

It really turned out good..like a tahiri but peppery
