  17. Oil- 4 tbsp

Instructions

  1. For soaking lentils take a cup of chana dal in a bowl. Wash it properly. Soak it in water for the whole night.
  2. For making paste drain the water from the dal, grind it into a smooth paste. Add green chillies, coriander leaves and garlic paste to the grinded dal. Remember do not add any water while grinding.
  3. Make small kebabs out of this mixture.
  4. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a non- stick pan and fry the kebabs in a low medium flame till golden brown from both the side.
  5. Place them out in a plate.
  6. For gravy preparation heat 4 tbsp oil in a pan. When it gets hot, lower the flame and add methi daana (fenugreek seeds).
  7. When it turns in golden color add all the spices- coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, red chilli powder and salt.
  8. Cover the lid and simmer the spices for a while.
  9. Add 1 cup of water. When the water starts boiling, lower the flame.
  10. For secret paste, as we have left 1tbsp grinded chana dal paste. So add 1/2 cup of water in this paste and mix it very well.
  11. Add this paste in our gravy and keep stirring. So it won't get burn.
  12. Add 1/2 cup of water again. When it starts boiling then add kebabs. Add a pinch of dried mango powder for better taste.
  13. Give it a good boil and switch off the flame.
  14. Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve hot with chapatti or zeera rice.
