ABOUT moong dal dhokla RECIPE

It is healthy, light for stomach as compared to other dhoklas. Melts in mouth, soft and fluffy.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1 cup moong dal or 200 gms
  2. Grated ginger half teaspoon
  3. Green chilli chopped 1/2 teaspoon
  4. Pinch of turmeric powder
  5. Salt 1/4 teaspoon
  6. Sugar 1 teaspoon
  7. Refined oil 2 teaspoon
  8. White vinegar 2 teaspoon
  9. Eno fruit salt half teaspoon
  10. Curd 2 teaspoon
  11. For syrup:
  12. Sugar 2 teaspoon
  13. Salt 1/4 teaspoon
  14. Juice of one or two lemon as per taste
  15. Oil 1 teaspoon
  16. Black mustard seeds half teaspoon
  17. Green chilli one
  18. 1 glass water or 200 ml

Instructions

  1. Soak moong dal for 3 hours. After that drain excess water.
  2. Grind it to smooth paste using one or two teaspoon of water, if needed. To above paste add all the ingredients except eno and mix well. Add eno just before you pour batter in plate of dhokla maker.
  3. Grease a plate with oil. Pour batter in it and cook in dhokla maker for 20 minutes. Then take out the plate.
  4. Now make syrup. For that take a pan add oil to it. Heat it then add mustard seeds, green chillies as crackling sound comes add water. To it add sugar, salt, lemon juice. Bring it to boil. Cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Pour syrup on dry dhokla.. Let it rest for 10 minutes
  6. Garnish with coriander and cut in desired pieces
