ABOUT Srikhand Vadi/ Yogurt Barfi RECIPE

This delicious sweet made using hung curd and sugar. I have learned this recipe from my grandmother .

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Fresh hung curd 1/2 cup
  2. Sugar 1/2 cup
  3. Sugar powdered 1 tablespoon
  4. Sugar powdered 1/2 tablespoon for dusting.
  5. Saffron strands few

Instructions

  1. Take same quantity (1:1) of sugar and chakka(curd) in a heavy bottom pan.
  2. Cook on low heat.
  3. Once sugar melts add saffron .
  4. Keep stirring till all the water evaporate and mixture starts leaving the pan.
  5. Take the pan off the heat.
  6. Stir nicely for few more minutes.
  7. Add powdered sugar .
  8. Mix it.
  9. Mixture will turn to thick mass.
  10. Sprinkle little sugar on clean kitchen platform and transfer this mass there.
  11. Dust some more powdered sugar and with a rolling pin roll it evenly (as thick you want).
  12. Cut to desired shapes.
  13. You can cut small circular shape..or give round shape, and can be given to kids as a toffee .
  14. You can store these barfis for more then 15 days without refrigeration.
