Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Mangoes- 2 big (grated ) (Sweet or semi sweet)
  2. Rice- 2 1/2 cups
  3. Channa dal- 1/4 cup (soak and keep)
  4. Turmeric- 1 tsp
  5. Salt to taste
  6. For the tempering:
  7. Oil
  8. Red chillies - 10
  9. Green chillies - 4
  10. Curry leaves
  11. Mustard seeds - 2 tsps
  12. Urad dal- 3 tsps
  13. Ginger- 1 to 2 tsps chopped
  14. Asfoetida - 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Cook the rice and soaked channa dal together with the turmeric
  2. Now let it cool till the tempering is done
  3. For the tempering take two tbsps of oil and add the ingredients under tempering
  4. Now add it to the rice and add the salt
  5. Mix.
  6. Now take the grated mango pulp
  7. Add it to the rice
  8. Mix well and keep on low heat for awhile
  9. Ready to eat
