ABOUT Wholemeal Salad Wraps RECIPE

These wraps are made with wheat flour stuffed with hummus, homemade spread, and colorful stir fried salad.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Soaked and Boiled Chickpeas 1Cup
  2. Sesame Seeds 3 tbsp
  3. Cloves of Garlic 4
  4. Olive Oil 1/2 Cup
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Lemon Juice 1tbsp
  7. Black Pepper Powder 1tsp
  8. For Salad
  9. Olive oil 1tbs
  10. Ginger Garlic Paste 1tbsp
  11. Onions Chopped 1/2 cup
  12. Purple Cabbage Chopped 1/2 Cup
  13. Corn 1/2 Cup
  14. Red, Yellow, and Green Bell Pepper Chopped 1 Cup
  15. Paneer 100gm
  16. Carrot Chopped 1/2 Cup
  17. Red Chilli Sauce 2tsp
  18. Tomato Ketchup 2tsp
  19. Salt
  20. Black Pepper Powder 1tsp
  21. Italian Mixed Herbs 1tsp
  22. Paprika 1tsp
  23. For wraps
  24. Wheat Flour 2 Cup
  25. Yeast 1tbsp
  26. Sugar 1tsp
  27. Salt
  28. Water
  29. Oil 1tbsp
  30. For Thousand Island Sauce
  31. Tomato Ketchup 3tbsp
  32. Hung Curd 3tbsp
  33. Cheese Spread or Grated Cheese 3tbsp

Instructions

  1. Dissolve dry yeast in warm water and let it rest for 5 minutes. This step is also called proofing. Now take wheat flour. Add oil, yeast and little water and knead a dough. Turn the dough out onto a smooth, lightly floured surface, and lightly flour your hands. Using the heels of your hands, push the dough away from you. Lift the edge farthest away from you, and fold it toward you. Give the dough a quarter turn. Repeat steps until the dough feel smooth and elastic. This usually takes about 8 minutes. Using a timer is a good way to ensure proper kneading. Cover it rest for 15 minutes.
  2. After 15 minutes again knead the dough divide it into 8 parts and make roti and cook on tawa from both sides.
  3. For salad
  4. Heat a pan add oil and ginger garlic paste. Add onion, corn and all the vegetables. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add paneer, tomato ketchup, salt, red chili sauce, paprika, mix herbs, black pepper cook for 2 minutes. To retain the crunch of vegetables do not over cook.
  6. For hummus
  7. In a bowl take boiled chickpeas, garlic, sesame seeds, black pepper, salt, lemon juice and olive oil add some water and grind it till you get the smooth texture of hummus.
  8. Home made thousand Island sauce
  9. Mix tomato ketchup, hung curd, grated cheese spread. Mix well.
  10. To assemble take a wrap spread Thousand Island sauce than hummus put stir fry salad. Roll the wrap.
  11. Serve the wraps with hummus topped with olive oil and red chili powder and ready made nachos.
