Yummy Maggi buns with the twist of tomato and basil.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 2 tsp Active Dry yeast
  2. 2 tablespoons sugar
  3. 3/4 cup luke warm whole milk
  4. 1/2 cup tomato paste
  5. 2 tbsp milk powder
  6. 3 tablespoons olive oil / butter
  7. 1 teaspoon salt
  8. 4 cups bread flour
  9. Filling:
  10. 1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
  11. 2 packet of maggi ( cooked)
  12. 2 teaspoons dried basil
  13. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  14. 1 tsp Oregano
  15. 1/2 tsp chilly flakes
  16. Salt to taste
  17. For sauce:
  18. 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  19. 3 TBSP HUNG CURD
  20. 1 tbsp Maggi Masala
  21. Fresh basil chopped
  22. Salt to taste
  23. 1/2 tsp black pepper
  24. 1/4 tsp Tabasco sauce

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm milk. In a large bowl beat tomato paste, oil, salt, milk powder, yeast mixture and 1 cup flour on medium speed until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough (dough will be sticky).
  2. Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning to grease the top. Cover with plastic wrap; let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 45 minutes.
  3. Boil the maggi in enough water, strain and let it cool. In a bowl, toss filling ingredients with maggi.
  4. Punch down the dough, make equal balls of it, flatten the ball, add some filling and collect the edges to make a ball.
  5. Put all the balls on a baking tray and keep aside to rest for 40- 50 mins, Sealed side down.
  6. Cover with a kitchen towel; let rise in a warm place until almost doubled, about 45 minutes.
  7. apply milk wash on it. Preheat oven to 180°.Bake until golden brown, 10-15 minutes. Remove buns to a wire rack. 
  8. For sauce add all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
  9. Serve Maggi buns with the mayo- basil- maggi sauce.
