A delicious wholesome rice dish

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. peeled potato 1
  2. peeled raw banana 2
  3. shrimps 150gms
  4. soaked basmati 500gms
  5. tomatoes 200 gms
  6. onion 250 gms
  7. ginger paste 100 gms
  8. garlic paste 100 gms
  9. chopped green chilly 1tbspn
  10. chopped red chilly 2
  11. Coriander powder 1tspn
  12. Coriander leaves
  13. cumin powder 1 tspn
  14. red chilly powder 1tspn
  15. hing 1/2tspn
  16. garam masala powder 1tspn(cardamom, cinnamon, cloves,jaifal,jawitri)
  17. whole garam masala(cardamom, cinnamon, cloves,bay leaves)
  18. Star anis 1
  19. Yogurt 1 cup
  20. ghee
  21. oil
  22. Salt
  23. sugar
  24. dry fruits one handful
  25. peanut one handful
  26. kesar food color
  27. rose water little
  28. few bay leaves

Instructions

  1. boil the potato, bananas and mash with the bottom of a glass
  2. steam the cleaned shrimps with salt strain
  3. mix the shrimps and boiled potatoes and banana
  4. add salt, sugar, chopped green chilli, coriander leaves and ginger garlic paste
  5. now take oil in a pan. Heat it and add chopped red chilli, hing and peanuts
  6. now add the mix into it. Fry a little and add all the powder spices except red chilli powder
  7. fry till all the water is dissolved
  8. Put off the flame, now grease your palm and make koftas. Keep these aside in a refrigerator
  9. now take water in a pan add whole garam masala: bay leaves, star anise and salt bring to a boil. Then add soaked basmati rice. Cook till 3/4 is done strain quickly.
  10. Take out the koftas from the fridge. fry it and keep aside
  11. now in same oil add whole garam masala fry till the aroma comes
  12. Now add tomatoes fry till melted. Now add rest of the ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder add yogurt and the koftas, give a nice stir.
  13. Now add biriyani masala, ghee and cook till the gravy turns into an oily one. putt off the flame
  14. Now take a heavy bottom pan. Put few bay leaves and make alternative layers of rice and kofta curry.
  15. Now fry the onion and make birista. Place this into the layers and add dry fruits, food color and rose water
  16. Seal the edges with dough and keep on a low flame for 15-20 min.
  17. Let it rest for some time
  18. serve with beetroot raita
